In 1983, before the requirements of the industry, the first work of fattening of A. Longinaris and shrimp Pleoticus muelleri were done and with promising results begins. There were several companies interested in the performance of tests of fattening in external ponds. At present, the N\u00e1gera Station works under the UNMDP located in Playas de Chapadmalal, Partido de Gral. Pueyrred\u00f3n and laboratories of the university complex Manuel Belgrano of the UNMDP.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0It has been obtained the mass rearing of postlarvae of diverse species of peneidos, setting up the system. In less than 20 days, 1-day postlarvae can be obtained with survivals above 50% (usually between 60 and 80%), which is considered acceptable internationally.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0They have been obtained in massive form postlarvas of 20 days of age, stage in which they are sent to external ponds for fattening<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0The maturation, copulation and spawning in captivity of Argentine shrimp has been obtained, with 20% of females that spawn between 80,000 and 368,750 eggs per lying.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0The reproductive quality of shrimp males has been studied and the quality and quantity of spermatozoa by spermatophore composition has been evaluated so far.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0Nutrition studies have been carried out on both shrimps Artemesia longinaris and Pleoticus muelleri. The fatty acid requirements of both species were determined; the cholesterol action on the growth and survival of Pleoticus muelleri was studied, showing a better growth with diets containing 1.5% or more of cholesterol.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0 The requirement for vitamins A, D and K in Artemesia longinaris and Pleoticus muelleri was studied.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0 Regarding the amino acid requirements in the diets, the percentage composition of amino acids in muscle and midgut gland (=hepatopancreas) of juveniles of shrimp Artemesia longinaris was determined. We also work in to the effect of these amino acids in the diets, observing that there are no differences in growth and survival with diverse arginine: lysine ratios tested in different diets.
